Rick de Gier (1979) is a Dutch musician, songwriter, author and journalist based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He released four albums as frontman of the indie rock band Ponoka. He also published a novel (Ninevé, 2011) and a collection of stories (Verdwaald in Ponoka, 2013). Both books were companions to a Ponoka album. May 2025 saw De Gier's debut as a singer-songwriter in his own right and under his own name: the Dutch-language single 'De eeuwige wederkeer', taken from the September 2025 album, Vliegtuigsporen boven Houten, on Volkoren Records.
