Socks;SportsSocks are an 'indie ambient punk' (and perhaps pop) band from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Their initial releases were a number of singles and a 6-song EP entitled People Singing About People., a title that really sums it all up, doesn't it. The band popped up in 2020, releasing a string of tunes about the "irony of human existence when you're in your twenties." Well, who knows. As for the music: the Socks' songs have drawn some comparisons to works by, for example, Mac DeMarco and dEUS. One thing's for sure, though. No, as a matter of fact: two things. Their second EP is called More songs about phones & happiness. (2023) and Ironic Songs for a Sincere Generation (2025) is their full-length debut album on Excelsior Recordings.
