Artist
Pedro Periáñez (Bavila Fuente, Salamanca, in 1560? - Santiago de Compostela in 1612?) was a composer of sacred music. It is known that he was a chapel teacher in Almería until September 1577, when he passed the oppositions to the magisterium of Malaga. On October 28, 1583, he moved to Santiago de Compostela to occupy the plaza of canonical-master of chapel, succeeding Villar de Heceso. Upon his death, Antonio Carrera took his post. His work is less important, but its relevance lies in its prolific, since he wrote abundantly. His works are scattered throughout the cathedrals for which he composed them.
