Lines Within is the manic musical output of Robbie Cooper, a musician from the Berkshires in Massachusetts. Most of the music is created with a Fender Jazz Bass, Fender Telecaster and an iPad. Lines Within's influences include Animal Collective, Radiohead, Ratatat, Gorillaz, MGMT, Built to Spill (to name a few). Robbie Cooper was born in Connecticut in 1983. After picking up the Electric Bass for the first time at 14, he was unable to put it back down again. He went on to get four years of instruction by local Northwest Connecticut legend Jazz Bassist Ram Miles. At 18 he joined what was a formative for him project dubbed "The Psycho Sessions" with Tri-State musicians James Thompson (Guitar), Dave Barney (Drums/Percussion) and Paul Delasco (Keyboard). "The Psycho Sessions" were basically all night Jam sessions fueled by Coffee. "The Psycho Sessions" musical style was Jazz/Fusion/Prog Rock heavily influenced by bands such as Ozric Tentacles & The Mahavishnu Orchestra. They continued to record these sessions for the next 4-5 years. After that project dissolved, Robbie decided to start playing more Electric Guitar along with Bass and focus on more experimental music which ultimately became "Lines Within".
