Lars Kroon (born 1986 in IJlst, The Netherlands) is a Dutch songwriter, musician and singer, a self-proclaimed 'dedicated outsider' who was released his own songs under several different monikers, including Lars and the Magic Mountain (2020-2021), Toverberg (2022-2024) and, as per 2025, his real name, Lars Kroon. Having written and sung mostly in English for many years, Kroon now prefers Dutch, his mother tongue. His music is a peculiar blend of low-key, poetic folk, Dutch Americana and country. Before these solo projects materialized, Kroon was the bass player in Dutch indie rock band Go Back to the Zoo (2008-2016), who effectively changed their name into St. Tropez to become a more punky proposition, with Kroon now stepping forward as the band's front man (2016-2018).
