Saartje Van Camp

Saartje Van Camp is a Dutch cello player and maker of theatre productions. As a cello player she is in the DUO VanCampvanDelft, in the band of Spinvis and in the Recopado tango quartet, amongst other projects. She recorded albums with Spinvis, Izaline Calister and Wende Snijders, amongst others. For her children's theatre production 'Walla Kristalla', Van Camp cruised through Amsterdam on her bicycle for two years, in search of children's songs from different cultures. She collected more than 300 songs and crafted a theatre play around them, in which Van Camp herself played the main character of Saartje. November 2011 saw the release of Walla Kristalla, an album with fifteen songs from the theatre show of the same name. Spinvis helped producing the music.
