Giovanni Battista Gnocchi (1569-1630) was priest-composer of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Steccata in Parma and published his four Litanies of Loreto in polyphony in 1597 as well as some Scriptura. Without doubt it was the first collection in Italy while the publication was dedicated to a brotherhood Jesuit.
