Céline Marie Claudette Dion (born 30 March 1968) is a Canadian singer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. She is known for her vocal range and technical proficiency and has achieved significant commercial success in both French- and English-language markets. With estimated worldwide sales exceeding 200 million records, she is among the best-selling recording artists of all time and the best-selling Canadian and French-language artist. Born in Charlemagne, Quebec, into a large family, Dion was managed from an early age by René Angélil, whom she later married. During the 1980s, she released eight French-language albums and became a prominent teen performer in Canada. She gained international attention after representing Switzerland and winning the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 with the song "Ne partez pas sans moi". She subsequently established a career in the English-language market, releasing twelve English-language studio albums.
