Atlas Takes Aim is an American alternative rock three-piece out of Las Vegas, NV. They formed in 2006. Atlas Takes Aim is: Mason Ian - guitar and vocals, Billie the Girl – bass and vocals, Joel Blickenstaff – drums. www.AtlasTakesAim.com Their principle influences are listed on their website are: U2, Radiohead, Jimmy Eat World, Tool. The band follows a fairly strict Do-It-Yourself philosophy, which means that they record, mix, master and produce all of their recordings at their home studio (Fromunda Studios, Las Vegas, NV). Atlas Takes Aim formed when the music project Mason, Billie and Joel had been working on, Kardia, (with Mason Ian only on guitar and a female lead singer) collapsed. The three of them decided to continue making music together and auditioned singers before the rest of the band demanded that Mason Ian be the singer. Mason Ian and Billie the Girl are married (to one another). Mason Ian is formerly of the bands: • Pspazz - an eclectic punk/funk/ska band out of Hawaii, who signed to Brainstorm Records and released the album, “Missile Toe”, produced by the late Gene Eugene. • Haole – an alternative rock band based out of Nashville, TN that self released two albums “My Feet Have Never Touched the Ground” and the post-breakup “And Then There Was One” EP. Haole morphed into Atlas Takes Aim, as Mason Ian initially reformed Haole in Las Vegas with Joel Blickenstaff but changed the name to avoid a name dispute and reflect the more mature music of Atlas Take
