Haole (pronounced How-lee) was founded by lead singer/guitarist Mason Bundschuh (now of Atlas Takes Aim) in the early 2000's. Based in Nashville, TN, Haole found a nice niche market for themselves via the local scene. They recorded a single album. Following a tour of the US with the band Echocast, Haole disbanded due to creative differences. However, Mason kept the concept of Haole alive in a partially-collaborative project with friend and co-producer T.Toe (a.k.a. David Tate). Recorded entirely in T.Toe's bedroom, with jimmy-rigged microphones and instruments, an EP was formed over the course of several months. The EP was named "And Then There Was One", which was a suggestion by T.Toe one late evening following a discussion of how Mason was really the only one left in the band that was still committed to keeping Haole alive. 24 hours after the last vocal tracks were recorded on that EP, Mason Bundschuh moved to Las Vegas, NV, opting to leave the namesake of Haole in Nashville, ready to start anew. Mason is now the frontman for his new band, "Atlas Takes Aim". (As of 2006.) User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
