Berklee College of Music was a stimulating environment where I met a lot of great musicians and instructors. It was also a great city to work in as a jazz musician, having a population of keen jazz fans and plenty of great venues. Meeting Joe Hunt was a real turning point β we clicked straight away and when we decided to get together and play, a new musical door opened for me. Joe is a tall, quietly spoken guy with a great sense of humour. Not only is he a great musician, he is also incredibly generous, encouraging and insightful. As soon as I suggested making this album he was immediately enthusiastic, and turned out to be one of the most committed and creative people it has been my pleasure to play with. It was a privilege to be in the company of someone who had played with Bill Evans, Stan Getz, and so many of my other jazz heroes. Joeβs musicianship obviously requires no praise β it speaks for itself! The incredible array of colours and soundscapes he creates is really something to marvel at.
