In this original composition the melody is entirely built on the symmetrical diminished scale of eight notes – hence the name ‘Octopus’. Originally based on an ordinary blues progression, this tune grew extra tentacles in rehearsal when we discovered that the addition of interspersed bars of drums spiced things up a little. - Thomas Walbum
