about

Vadim Laktionov is a multi stylistic, multi instrumental and multi cultural artist from Essen, Germany. His main instrument is a trumpet, but also he plays flugelhorn, piano, keyboard, guitar, percussions and different wooden ethnic and traditional pipes. The range of music he plays is wide and manifold: from classic jazz, swing and bossa nova up to big band, funk, reggae, dub, ska, new age and electro. He himself composes music which is impossible to classify also because of its fluid, amorphoes but still highly melodic and harmonic character. Some can call it spacey, some abstract ambient, some - future jazz. Vadim is also a teacher of trumpet and improvisation at diverse music schools around the region such as Folkwang Musikschule. His music like his paintings (used as covers of the albums here) are like mosaic of different elements. They all are melted together and knitted in a multi-coloured carpet base - the entire fabric of improvisation.
