Trumpet and Flugelhorn Player Matthias Bergmann (born 1972 in Emden) moved to Cologne in 1997 after his studies at the Hilversum Conservatory/NL. He leads his own Quintett and works in Duo Settings with Oliver Schroer on Churchorgan and Jürgen Friedrich on Piano. He also co-leads the Paul Heller-Matthias Bergmann Quintett as well as the Marcus Bartelt-Matthias Bergmann NDW Projekt and is a well booked sideman in the bands of Andreas Schnermann, Frank Sackenheim, Florian Ross, John Hondorp and many others.
