Kimathi Moore was born in Paris, France and has lived all around the Atlantic and in West Africa. He is an electronic music producer, sound designer and an all around percussionist. Having grown in a household full of music and art, Kimathi was from very early on introduced to music from all over the world. From Free Jazz to music from Papua New Guinnea. Kimathi now works under several projects besides this one (Kimathir & Phenoma). For all of his life Kimathi remembers using music to fall asleep to. It wasn't until later that he realized how much sound and music affected the overall state of one's mind. In 2004, Kimathi attended the Monroe Institute known for their pioneering research on consciousness using sound, and was very influenced by their work and the idea of using binaural beats and cycles to entrance the brain. The project, Still, besides being a tribute to ambient icon Steve Roach's groundbreaking Structures From Silence, is a culmination of many years of creating music on the side just to sleep to-when not involved in composing formal songs.
