Artist
(b Rome, 1665-70; d there, 11 Feb 1744). Italian composer. He was organist at various Roman churches before succeeding his teacher Pasquini at S Maria in Aracoeli (1710). He wrote at least seven oratorios, and 12 chamber cantatas (1700) unusual for their arias with obbligato instruments, including the harpsichord.
