There are three bands called The Tunes: 1) The Tunes are a folk&roll band from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. They released their debut album "Pududu!" November 2010. With success they entered (#4) the Dutch charts within two weeks after their release, sold out their release show in Paradiso Amsterdam and are playing at the prestige Noorderslag Festival in January 2011. Their biography: On a summer day in 2008, The Tunes bought a minivan. That same day they drove it to France. For a month they played on small town squares, seaside boulevards and monumental Parisian landmarks. On the spot, they experienced something amazing. People who had never heard of The Tunes or their music, were crazed about the sound and vibe of the band. When trying to find words to express this sensation, The Tunes came up with a brand new genre; Folk & Roll. Authentic. Pure. Energetic. It’s not that often that you see five youngsters from Amsterdam carrying around a squeezebox, double bass, a couple of acoustic guitars, pans and a scrubbing board. When you do, there is a fair chance that they’re called The Tunes. Using these vintage instruments they make their music sound everything but old-fashioned; it’s a blend of funk, folk, and rock ‘n roll, in elevating and catchy songs. Having played over 250 shows the past two years, The Tunes turn every show into a party, making the crowd dance their feet off. The Tunes crawl under your skin. Get in your head. And don’t stop until you dance. To Folk & Roll.
