Rhythme was the name of a Dutch jazz magazine, published between 1949 and 1961. Following the example of the American magazine Down Beat, Rhythme started doing reader's polls. From 1958 to 1960 they issued three EPs featuring recordings by a band made up of all the prize-winning soloists from each category. This band was called The Rhythme All Stars and, evidently, had a different line-up on each EP (entitled 1958, 1958-1959 and 1960, respectively). Musicians that performed with The Rhythme All Stars band of merry winners included Ado Broodboom (trumpet), Cees Smal (trombone), Toon van Vliet (tenor sax), Herman Schoonderwalt (bariton sax), Peter Schilperoort (clarinet), Coen van Nassou (vibes), Eddie Doorenbos (vocals side B), Rob Madna (piano), Hank Wood (bass) and John Engels (drums).
