Jack Bulterman ( Amsterdam, September 27th 1909 - Amsterdam, May 27th 1977 ) was a mult-talented Dutch trumpet player, pianist, accordion player, arranger, composer, lyricist, music producer and children's book author. He came to early fame in April 1935 when he joined The Ramblers (led by Theo Uden Masman), but really made his name as an arranger and composer of original Dutch jazz songs for The Ramblers and other artists and bands. One of his best known early compositions is Dag schatteboutje (1931). His many compositions included the Nederlandstalige songs Wie is Loesje, Het proces van Pietertje Swing, Meneer de baron is niet thuis, De Ramblers gaan naar Artis (Paul Roda) and Weet je nog wel die avond in de regen In 1947 Jack Bulterman left The Ramblers to work with the Decca and Phonogram labels in the Netherlands as a producer, but initiated The Ramblers comeback in 1974 and led them until his death in 1977 whereupon Marcel Thielemans became band leader. As a post-war music producer he worked with many artists including The Blue Diamonds, Ronnie Tober, Willeke Alberti, Anneke Grönloh and Jeannette van Zutphen. Jack Bulterman also released a number of singles under his own name and under the pseudonym of Jack Black. During the 1920s and 1930s Jack Bulterman played with the Dutch bands the De Mixed Pickles and Blue Bees, the latter of which he also led. He also worked with the Dutch cabaret stars Willy Derby, Lou Bandy and Kees Pruis. User-contributed text is
