The Orion Lion is Joseph Burton, 26. Burton is a singer-songwriter-producer in West Hollywood, CA. Burton is known for creating vast musical landscapes that mux together movie score and modern pop. His 2011 full length release "Your Ocean" is dynamic and complete. From the soft smooth mind voyage of "All Aboard the Ark" to the emotionally charged and electronically explosive "Let There Be Light" Burton covers quite a musical spectrum. Burton's influences include M83, Massive Attack, The Notwist, Nine Inch Nails, and Imogen Heap. The Orion Lion's cinematic electronic dream-pop sound was established over years of playing in bands and learning about music production in Las Vegas, NV. After the breaking up of multiple music groups and in the difficult terrain of finding others with the same passion for music, Burton set out to make it on his own. Burton formed a one man band and, in 2007, moved to Nashville TN. The Orion Lion's positive, philosophical, and spiritual musical themes are the result of his experience there. Nashville offered drastically changing seasons, expansive trees, vast skies, and spiritually mature peers. The time there sharpened his knowledge about the music industry, developed his ability as a producer, and provided him a fruitful nest for the discovery of what he wanted to say.
