Artist
The New Originals and their unique brand of juvenescent pop music evoke long weekend nights spent in your childhood bedroom. They sound like magazine tear-outs taped to off-white walls and bubble gum kisses and late night phone calls whispered beneath the bedsheets. They sound like being seventeen years old. This of course might have something to do with the fact that the members of The New Originals have a median age of 17. And everything from their twee-tinged melodies to their confessional lyrics to their harmony-filled vocals recall the effusive smells, sounds and texture of the transition from adolescence to adulthood. This isn't to say that The New Originals' sound isn't mature and sophisticated, because it's that too. Take a listen and see for yourself.
