The Discount Heroes originally formed in New York City as a folk/rock duo consisting of Rob Ogus and Frank Tartaglia. In 2006, the group relocated to Philadelphia and, over the course of the next year or so, expanded to a full band, in which their sound changed dramatically. While still preserving the vocal harmonies and folk/rock + 60s pop influences, new songs also incorporarted soul, funk and indie rock elements. The current lineup consists of Rob Ogus (guitar, vocals), Frank Tartaglia (vocals), Ron Bauman (lead guitar), and Joe "Brown" Tartaglia (drums). The band is currently doing a monthly show at Connie's Ric Rac, a music venue in the Italian Market section of Philadelphia. Show schedules may be found on http://discountheroes.com or http://conniesricrac.com. "Who Are The Discount Heroes?" (previously titled "Cold Cuts"), the group's first professionally produced EP, was recorded and released in 2008. The band is currently recording a new EP.
