Signed to Edinburgh's Human Condition Records, Sputniks Down are a young three piece hailing from Bishopbriggs on the outskirts of Glasgow. They produce an innovative mix of instrumental electronica, 'Eno-esque gorgeousness' and layered sonic perfection. 'The Young Marble Giants stepping out with a prozac-ed up Godspeed You Black Emperor while the Mary Chain bite their ankles'. Influences also include such bands as Tortoise & Mogwai. in 2001 they released first full album - mesmerizing "Much Was Decided Before You Were Born" on Edinburgh's "Human Condition" record label.
