Some Kind Of Third is Jason Rule (noted solo artist and drummer for several groups) and Kevin O'Donnell (reclusive musical hermit and a key part of Fung Wah Bus.) The two met in a music theory class in the year of 2008. After realizing that they had similar music tastes, they formed this duo on December 4th, 2008. The two have put together many songs of the folk variety, and also covered such classics as "The Cocaine Habit Blues." In live performances they have been accompanied by Henk Fisher on drums, however there are no recordings of the three playing together. Because both of these musicians have other musical groups that play and record, Some Kind of Third has always been a sort of backseat project. However, they have produced numerous EP's, including Some Kind of Audiotape, Some Kind of Bear Sweater, and Some Kind of Adventure. The latter was also accompanied by a limited edition film of the same title. All in all, Some Kind of Third provides a pleasant, down-home sound that is easy to enjoy. The euphoria these musicians get out of making their music is enough to make it worth listening to.
