Artist
Santi (Sante) Orlandi (d. 1619) was a singer and composer. He was a native Florentine, and maestro di cappella for Ferdinando Gonzaga in Rome. Before dismissing Monteverdi, Francesco Duke of Mantua asked his brother to release Orlandi from his service in order to be Monteverdi's successor. Fernando reluctantly agreed, and Orlandi arrived from Rome two days before Monteverdi's dismissal.
