Per Oddvar Johansen (born March 1, 1968 in Oslo) is a Norwegian jazz drummer educated at Trøndelag Music Conservatory, 1989-1992. He has worked professionally since 1990, and has toured the world in countless different settings. His well-known tastefulness is heard on more than sixty released albums. He has won five Spellemannsprisen (Norwegian Grammy`s), with Vigleik Storaas, Petter Wettre, Hans Mathisen and Solveig Slettahjell. He is considered one of Norway´s most important jazz-drummers, and currently works with Christian Wallumrød Ensemble, The Source, Vigleik Storaas Trio, Solveig Slettahjell Slow Motion Orchestra and others. His playing is influenced by players like: Paul Motian, Edward Vesala, Jon Christensen, Jack De Johnette, Joey Baron, as well as John Bonham, Phil Rudd, Ringo Starr, Neil Peart, Phil Collins, Jerry Marotta..
