Naphini is an artist based in Minneapolis that writes, performs, engineers, produces, and masters his own music which generally fits into some subgenre of electronic. Initial influences were artists like The Prodigy and Daft Punk but has recently included Radiohead, Sigur Rós, Air, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. In accordance with these new influences, the newly released EP O! To See Those Far Shores represents a sharp turnabout in style from the artist's previously upbeat, progressive sound into much more mellow, contemplative territory. Previous releases include the full-length album Get Your Pretense On (2006), and, in 2004, an untitled collection of songs including various unauthorized remixes and mashups of classical and techno music. As such, these songs are officially unavailable. However, the disc also contained a few original songs which (along with naphini's newer material) can be downloaded at www.naphini.com.
