(2006-2009) The band frame themselves in a similarly lighthearted manner: “Mine Milk My Mother are a group from Moscow, who play monotonous, noisy music.” That would be true. “They formed in the autumn of 2006; within ten months they had already started selling their music to fans at concerts. Those recordings were cased in homemade envelopes made of snow.” One example can be seen below… “There are three members in Mine Milk My Mother, and they’re all stupid. The best way to listen to this monotonous, noisy music is through earplugs. The band hand them out for free at their concerts.” That’s like saying that a restaurant’s food is best filtered through gauze fastened to your teeth. Other tidbits of apparent uselessness include a recent announcement that MMMM will be heading out of town - briefly to the provinces - where they expect to encounter “bikers and striptease.” We’re working on the assumption that the bikers are not responsible for the dances. Another fan elsewhere, discussing the deliberate removal of any gloss or studio magic, said with equal enthusiasm of the new material: “It’s a cool recording. The quality’s really lo-fi, but hey! - that’ll only bust your head open even wider!” These odd experiences don’t lend themselves to language or lyrics in any form, it would seem, since over and above the lack of words in their music, the band offer absolutely no biographical info or orderly discographies on their MySpace and Live Journal pages.
