Artist
Singer-songwriter Micah Gilbert was born in Athens, Georgia, and grew up in various southeastern cities. He performed both as a solo artist and in various bands before resettling in Athens, where he developed a following as the main songwriter, lead vocalist, and guitarist for the popular band Magister Ludi. In 1993 he released an 11-song solo CD, Book of Changes (Mellifluid), co-produced with New-York-based producer/engineer Garry Rindfuss and recorded at John Keane's studio in Athens. He has twice earned invitations to perform at South-by-Southwest in Austin. In 1996 he moved to Scotland, where he is focused on songwriting and recording, as well as performing in an acoustic format with a global feel. Several of his songs have won approval in songwriting competitions. He is a member of the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters, and affiliated as a writer with BMI.
