Lea-Marie Becker, professionally known as LEA, was born on July 9, 1992, in Kassel, Germany. She is a German singer-songwriter and keyboardist. LEA began her musical journey at a young age, growing up in a household filled with music, as her parent worked as a music therapist. She started taking piano lessons at the age of six and wrote her first songs at the age of eleven. In her teenage years, she gained early recognition by uploading music videos to YouTube under the name Lea-Marie. One of her songs, Wo ist die Liebe hin, garnered significant attention with over 2.7 million views. LEA studied music and special education in Hannover, where she continued developing her musical career. In 2015, her rendition of Hildegard Knef's So hat alles seinen Sinn was featured on the compilation album Für Hilde, which led to her signing with the record label Four Music. The following year, in 2016, she released her debut album, Vakuum, which explored personal themes, including her first relationship and feelings of displacement.
