Jodee says: "It was my father who suggested I sing Welsh folk songs and that held for me a key. It unlocked something inside me. I was able to combine my love of times past, with the mystery of lore, tradition and emotion. In reaching through from this side of the sea, I see my family's ancestral land from a different place, from a different perspective, yet with no less pride or emotion. I believe many Americans can relate to this. And while the scenery outside my window my differ from that of my family's windows a century before, the landscape of the heart keeps many things alive. I collect the words of a culture from pages I have read, but I’ve absorbed words of home carried in my grandparent’s voices --- this is what I hope to express in my singing."
