Jesse Lacy honors the 1970's singer-songwriter tradition, while reflecting more contemporary influences (particularly Iron & Wine, Glen Hansard and Sufjan Stevens). Born and raised in the state of Indiana, Lacy received his bachelor's degree in English (poetry) and music from Indiana University. Although Lacy would later expand his sound to include a full band, he started out performing solo with his guitar in coffee houses and living rooms. In 2013, with the help of a successful crowd funding campaign, Lacy took 10 friends to the studio and ended up recording his debut album, First Steps, inspired by Vincent van Gogh's painting and released it on his father's birthday. Following the release, Lacy took 'First Steps' on a two month East Coast tour. He is currently working on his second project expected to release in 2015.
