Born in 1983, Ishay Shaer began piano studies at the age of 7 with Mrs. Hanna Barsilai. In 1998 he moved to Dr. Asaf Zohar's class and in 2004 he started studying in Buchmann-Mehta School of Music of Tel-Aviv University (in cooperation with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra) with Prof. Tomer Lev. In 2007, Ishay started his master studies with Prof. Arie Vardi. During recent years, Ishay Shaer has taken part in many national and international recitals, festivals and other events, as a soloist and in chamber music. He has broadcast live several times in television and radio stations and played as a soloist with Haifa Symphony Orchestra. He also took part in master-classes with renowned artists, such as Murray Perahia, Arie Vardi and Pnina Salzman. In October 2006, Ishay won the first prize in the Newport International Competition in the UK. After playing with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales under the baton of Jac van Steen, he gave a special recital, given as part of Swansea Festival in Wales. In June 2007 he won third prize in the "Silvio Bengalli" International Piano Competition in Italy.
