Chris Breemer was born in 1952 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Early piano tuition was only moderately fruitful because of an aversion to practising and a general dislike of the standard piano teaching material. Only after quitting lessons he fell passionately in love with the music of Chopin, Liszt, and a host of other composers, and for many years he played (or attempted to play) anything that came his way, devouring a sizeable chunk of the standard and not-so-standard piano literature. The wild hairs being gone, he came to realise that only diligent practicing can lead to any form of decent piano playing, and now he actually enjoys working hard on selected pieces, and is currently taking lessons from Russian pianist Evelina Vorontsova (http://www.evelinavorontsova.com). He forms a duo with violinist Alexander van Wassenaer, and has recently taken up playing the organ, taking lessons from the renowned Dutch organist Gerrit Christiaan de Gier. Chris graduated in theoretical mathematics in 1981 but subsequently went into software development and stuck there. He currently works as a senior technical support specialist for a large IT company. He lives in a tiny village in the middle of the Netherlands with his wife, two children, dog, rabbit, three chickens and two stupid ducks.
