Founded in late 2007-early 2008 at Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania, Goodbye Sunrise was the newest project of singer/guitarist Tom Farnham and drummer Greg Bell (both formerly of Stranger Danger and Mercedes Lane) in which they were joined by Farnham's high school friend Joe Czajkowski on bass, and Greg Fisher (ex-The Premier) on lead guitar. Czajkowski re-located in June 2008 and as a result Atkinson took over intermittent live bass duties. The band continued as a trio, but was joined by Fisher for an August performance at the final show of local friends Boy Girl Sleepover.
