Artist
Elf 'n Rich was a collaboration between Dutch multi-instrumentalist, Jeroen Elfferich, on piano (and guitar, in the case of the only overdub on the album), and English vocalist, Rich Harding, who at the time was living in The Netherlands. Having collaborated previously on some tracks released under Jeroen's usual moniker of Happy Elf, the pair decided to record some piano and vocal covers. Three recording sessions ensued, each in Delft, with four tracks recorded per session, and all recorded in one take - some of them literally one take, with that being all required, but most being a second or third try. This was an interesting discipline - there are a couple of fluffs on the album but we think it worked rather well. The only overdub on the album is the aforementioned guitar on the opening track, The Logical Song. The duo intended to gig the songs, including further material, but Rich returned to the UK in 2008 before this could come to fruition.
