Alex S Dewett is a musician / DJ / producer from Manchester who is based in Sheffield. He is interested in a wide range of different genres of music but most notably played lead guitar in the Rock bands Ecanasia and Painkiller Jane. After securing the Headlining slot at the annual Dev Jam festival on The Devonshire Green in Sheffield City Centre with Ecanasia in 2005, he also played a one-off cameo performance the year after at the same festival for Nottingham band, A is for Ape. He later went on to play guitar in the urban live backing band for Sheffield Hip Hop artist, J.Kas, and still continues this link as a session Guitarist for studio and occasional electric/unplugged performances. In 2012 Alex joined The Makeshiftz on Keyboard, playing a mix of popular covers from different decades. As well as undertaking various musical side projects, in his spare time he produces, mixes and DJs under the name of Captain Crossfader, who held a monthly DJ residency for 2 years at Club Couture on the second saturday each month. All tracks on this profile are recorded in the low-fi amateur home recording studio in his basement, with most of the singing, as well as all of the instruments and mixing being done on his own, with occasional guest vocal cameos from friends. He plays lead/rhythm Guitar, Keyboard, Bass, Glockenspiel, Stylophone, Tambourine and on some desperate occasions, Drums.
