Biagio Tomasi (1585-1640) was an Italian composer and organist of the late Renaissance. Born into a poor background, he was, along with Giovanni Nicolò Mezzogorri, one of composer Girolamo Belli's protégés in Argenta. Mezzogorri spent most of his career in Comacchio, where he was organist at the cathedral and took courses in theology. He takes orders, and becomes choirmaster at the collegiate church of Massa Fiscaglia. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
