Benedykt Cichoszewski (born in the 1680s in Grodzisk Wielkopolski , died on July 7, 1738 in Paradyż , Greater Poland ) - Polish Baroque composer , church singer , copyist of musical works, monk (Cistercians). He was born in Grodzisk Wielkopolski in the 1780s, he worked as a monk, singer and composer in Cistercian monasteries in Przemęt and Paradyż. A dozen or so of his compositions have been preserved in the Archdiocese Archives in Poznań. He composed religious, vocal and instrumental pieces, as well as concertos, referring to Italian music of the late 17th and early 18th centuries . Among his compositions, the most important are: Vesperae de Beata Maria Virgine , cantatas : Ecce iste est , Factum est silentium , O stellae lucentes and multi-part motets : Benedicta et venerabilis and Exultate fidelium turbae .
