Someday Man is Paul Williams' debut album as a performer, released on Reprise in 1970. All songs on the album were composed by Williams and Roger Nichols, making it the only Williams album not to feature at least one song entirely written by Williams. The title cut, "Someday Man", was a minor hit single for The Monkees in 1969. The album is easily recognized by its lush and bombastic orchestral production. Roger Nichols also served as the album's producer, and played electric bass on select tracks. One of the album songs, "To Put up With You", had earlier been released as a single B-side by Williams' group The Holy Mackerel in 1969. In 2005, Someday Man saw a re-release on Collector's Choice, with remastered audio and twelve bonus tracks including demos, singles mixes, and session outtakes that included the scrapped album cut "The Drifter".
