"Forty Licks" is a double compilation album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones. Released as a retrospective marking the band’s 40th anniversary, it spans material from across their career. The compilation is notable for combining songs from the band’s 1960s Decca/London recordings, licensed by ABKCO Records, with selections from their post-1970 catalogue, which the band owns and which was distributed at the time by Virgin/EMI. The second disc also includes four new songs recorded specifically for the release. The album was commercially successful, reaching number two on both the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200. In support of the compilation, the Rolling Stones launched the international "Licks Tour", which ran for approximately a year and later led to the release of the live album "Live Licks" in 2004.
