"22" is Joe Da III's fourth beat tape overall, originally released under his former moniker "BlackPhan" on his 22nd birthday; December 11th, 2016. How he described the project from his bandcamp reads as follows: "In celebration of my 22nd birthday comes a new beat tape comprised of 18 rough cuts. Sampling from influences ranging from Yeah Yeah Yeahs to Issac Hayes, I want these cuts to symbolize the creative transformation I'm currently going through, meanwhile recapping my phases through the past eight months since my last release".
