Aguilera shows that she’s not going to be just another wannabe pop star by opening the album with the powerful and sly anti-gossip, anti-slut-shaming, stand-your-ground feminist anthem “Can’t Hold Us Down”. However, instead of moving immediately towards danceable grooves, she instead surprises the listener with “Walk Away”, a pained and emotional ballad about being stuck in an unhealthy relationship, unable to escape.
