"Uniform" is an internal monologue in the course of the narrative of Firstnighter in which the hero realizes and makes a full commitment to a relationship that will serve as an oasis in the middle of a world marked by greed, lack of consciousness and alienation. The song was written by Timothy Mendonsa of the band and provides the transition to the more erotically-focused "All Through the Night".
