"Typical Male" is a song by singer Tina Turner. It was written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle and produced by the former as the lead single of Tina's sixth solo album Break Every Rule (1986). The song hit #1 in Cash Box magazine and peaked at #2 for 3 weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100 in October 1986, kept off by Janet Jackson's "When I Think Of You" and Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors". This marked the first time in Billboard Hot 100 history that the top 3 songs on the chart were solely by female artists.
