This song is a precursor for the rest of the album. if you imagine that others are the ice you are skating on, the more good, honest friends you have, and the more support you have the thicker the ice is and the safer you are. Since Pink didn’t have the kind of support he needed, he had incredibly thin ice. And he slipped out of his depth and out of his mind as he struggled to claw his way out.
