“Talk talk” is the fifth track on Charli XCX’s sixth studio album, BRAT, releasing on June 7, 2024. On February 22, 2024, the song was previewed at the end of George Daniel’s set at Charli’s Boiler Room event in Brooklyn. A stream of this event was made available on YouTube on March 28, 2024. On April 2, 2024, Charli confirmed that the track would appear on BRAT via a voice memo sent to a small number of fans. It was mistakenly released on streaming in New Zealand on May 17, 2024, but was quickly taken down.
