"Pizza Pie" was composed by Jules Helzner and Don Young. Young was a singer in one Helzner's bands. He helped with the words. The copyright was never renewed and Helzner was a member of BMI at the time. He played the piano on the 45 RPM on Helzner's label VIV. Helzner tried to get Dick Clark to play it, but he said it was a "no go" and you had to "give away too much" to Dick Clark. The flip side was a song written by a school teacher, a friend of Phil's. The title song of the song is called "You're So Beautiful".
