Titled “messier,” the track appears as the tenth song on Tate McRae’s sophomore album, THINK LATER, released on December 8, 2023. Throughout the song, McRae explores the emotional fallout of a relationship that’s become chaotic, unpredictable, and painfully cyclical. Over dark, pulsing production, she admits that both she and her partner bring out the worst in each other — a dynamic built on repeated lies, late-night arguments, and a pattern neither can seem to break.
