Gotta Get Out of Here was originally written by Robert Karp in the 1990s for the band Redemption, which never released any music. The lyrics are believed to have been inspired by a relationship Karp was going through at the time. The original version was much sparser and more country flavored than the one released by The Innocent Bystanders.
